Your name is already on the curb

There is a difference between waiting for a car and being expected. One of them starts before you leave the gate.

Most airport ground transport is a request: you land, you open an app, you hope supply is nearby. A reserved black-car pickup is the opposite shape. The vehicle was assigned while you were still in the air. The chauffeur has a name — yours — and a place to stand. The curb already belongs to the booking.

What “reserved” is supposed to mean

Not a queue. Not a lottery. A chauffeur briefed on who to look for, a vehicle class that was confirmed when the trip was booked, and a dispatcher watching the flight so the car moves with the aircraft rather than with a clock. If that is not what you get, you did not get a reservation — you got a promise dressed as one.

The name on the tablet

Meet-and-greet is one version of this: a greeter inside arrivals with a board. Curbside is another: the chauffeur at a named door, still holding your name. Either way the point is the same. You should not have to solve “which black SUV” in a wet lane at eleven at night. Someone is already looking for you.

Why the booker cares more than the passenger

The traveller experiences this as the car simply being there. The assistant who booked it experiences it as not having to field the call that says the car never showed. Accountability sits with the operator who took the reservation, not with an algorithm that reassigned the job when surge spiked. That is the product for anyone who books for someone else.

What has to be on the booking

Flight number, so the car can follow the aircraft. The traveller’s mobile, so dispatch reaches the person in the terminal. The entrance or door when it matters. And a clear choice between curbside and meet-and-greet — we wrote separately about [when the greeter is worth it](/blog/meet-and-greet-or-curbside-airport-pickup). Five seconds at booking is what puts the name on the curb.

When rideshare is still fine

A short hop across town on a quiet afternoon is not what this is for. Save the reserved car for the trip that cannot fail: the inbound after a long haul, the client you are hosting, the red-eye when app supply thins, the passenger who should not be problem-solving at baggage claim. Competence is the signal. The name on the curb is how it reads.

Questions

Commonly asked

Is meet-and-greet required for the name to be held?+

No. Curbside still has your name on the chauffeur’s brief and, when you ask for it, on a sign or tablet at the door. Meet-and-greet puts that person inside the terminal.

What if my flight is late?+

We track the aircraft and move the pickup with it. You are not charged for the delay itself; the grace window runs from landing, not from the original clock time.

Can I book this for someone else?+

Yes — that is most of our work. Put their name and mobile on the reservation so the chauffeur knows who to look for, while confirmations still come to you.
